A fittingly smooth, dark rum full of character and charm. Yeoman Warders, nicknamed ‘Beefeaters’, have been guarding the Tower of London since Tudor times.

Yeoman Warder Rum will be stocked in The Keys, the private pub within The Tower of London which is staffed by off-duty 'Beefeaters' and opens to the 37 resident Yeoman Warders once all the tourists have left The Tower for the day.

Why not stock a bottle of our dark rum in your home bar too? For each bottle sold, £4 will be donated to the Yeoman Warder's charity.

ABV 37.5%
Standard full-size 70cl bottle

As bottles are printed by hand, designs may vary slightly to the images.

------

For centuries, the Yeoman Warders have played an integral role in the Ceremony of the Keys.

At the sound of footsteps approaching
the Sentry cries out,
Halt, who comes there?
The Yeoman Warder replies,
The keys.’
The Sentry replies,
Whose keys?
The Yeoman Warder replies,
Queen Elizabeth’s keys.’
The Sentry concludes,
Pass Queen Elizabeth’s keys, all is well.’

The Ceremony of the Keys is the oldest surviving military ceremony of its kind. While the monarch’s name might be different, the words that accompany the ‘locking up’ of the Tower of London have remained unchanged for centuries.

The monarch may no longer reside at the Tower, but the Crown Jewels and many other valuable objects still do. The Ceremony of the Keys is as important and relevant today as it was in centuries past.
